Raising it takes one hand. A counterbalance gas spring carries the weight of your setup, so a squeeze of the lever floats your screen up to eye level and holds it there. No motor whine, no cord trailing off the back, nothing the person at the next desk will notice. The keyboard deck rises with it, so your wrists stay where they belong instead of reaching up. And when you want your desk back the way it was, it folds flat in seconds.
Nothing ends the standing experiment faster than a screen that shakes every time you hit the spacebar. The Zero doesn't do that. Welded steel through the frame holds your monitor dead still at full height, carries up to 28.7 lbs of screen, laptop and everything you keep within reach, and gives you the planted feel of a purpose-built standing desk, on the desk you already own.

We purchased multiple desk converters and one stopped going up and down after a year due to a broken cable. I sent an email to customer service yesterday and a replacement is with a courier now. This is not a dinky it Ikea piece. The mechanism is very smooth and the materials are high quality. It's a bit heavy and fairly large which is nice because you have a large surface area and it's very stable on top of the desk. That said if you want something light that is very easy to remove and put back all the time this may not be ideal for that. One thing I love is that in its bottom position the keyboard shelf is almost level with the desk and juts out just in front of the desk. I got this for my wife who does not like change and she's loving it.
I have had back problems, but have built in desks. My wife has a desky desk, which is awesome, and saw this, and suggested i should get it. Arrived promptly, and have to say, its an awesome upgrade to my working environment. Well built. Love it!
