No, this monitor arm will not be suitable. Even if you have a VESA adapter for your iMac this monitor arm requires a monitor weight of between 24.3lbs to 44.1lbs.
Yes! Our Heavy Duty Single monitor arm can be used with any desk so long as the desktop thickness is between 0.2"-2.4", using either the desk clamp or bolt through desk installation.
The base of the monitor arm will not move if bolt-mounted to the desktop or if the clamp is tightened correctly. However, it is not possible to fix the position of the arms in place or stop movement around the joints of the arm if knocked. The monitor tilt adjustment can be tightened so that its positon will not change if accidentally knocked.

This arm is well built and has no problem holding my 49" ultrawide monitor
I have a very heavy 32 inch Samsung curved VA monitor which requires a strong and heavy weight lifting monitor arm to support it. I found this monitor arm from desky works perfectly and the build quality is exceptional. Due to renting I am unable to mount my TV onto the wall; so I thought I'd turn to a monitor arm so I can position it at the end of my bed (mounted on a piano stand). Long story short, the heavy duty arm has been comfortably holding my TV (42-inch Sony A90K, ~13kg) without any issues. It hasn't drooped/fallen whatsoever over the past 2 months. I'm more worried about the arch the piano stand is developing...

Fantastic. Setup is way easier than I expected. It holds my 43” Dell monitor without issue. The only thing I noticed is if I turn the monitor around to face backward, I have to make sure the center of gravity is balanced on the front of the desk (i.e. the front of the monitor is behind the clamp on the desk, from the perspective of the person on the other side of the desk, if that makes sense). But still. So happy.
So pleased with this mount. I've been scared to mount my 38" Alienware monitor due to its weight. This mount feels super sturdy and I couldn't be happier with it. It's so heavy duty I may need help uninstalling it one day though! :)
