L-Shaped Desk Setup

An L-shaped desk does exactly what it says on the tin—creates a customized, L-shaped personal workstation large enough for movement, multiple screens, and a clutter-free area. You might need one to help maximize an awkward space, or maybe you frequently have multiple jobs on the go, are sick of moving things around, and know that a clear playing field will make you more productive throughout the day. Desky’s L-shaped desk range includes stand up desks, offering ample space and efficient multitasking while allowing you to switch between sitting and standing with ease.

Placement Considerations

Admit it, whether at home or at work, the vast expanse offered by corner desks is pretty impressive to friends or clients, presenting the image of the perfect office. How you set out your office furniture depends on how you are going to use it and also on the space available to you. A corner sit stand desk is a great option for maximizing space while maintaining ergonomic benefits. In a smaller office, fit it in one corner of a room, allowing more space for the rest of your setup and other office furniture.

If you need privacy, place it away from the wall and sit inside the L-shape, shielding your precious ideas from prying eyes and giving you a position of authority. This setup leaves space for furniture as well as for visitors to sit across from you during meetings. An L shaped table offers flexibility in positioning, whether for privacy or accessibility. Positioning your desk next to a wall also gives you the option of placing a bookcase at one end of your desk, potentially creating a U-shaped work area with files or books within easy reach.

The Best Corner Desk Work Flow

Streamline your movement throughout the day through easy access to files, documents, and equipment simply by rotating left and right. Everything you require is within easy reach when it comes to L-shaped desks. Perfect for multitasking, an office corner desk allows you to work at your computer, retrieve a document from the under-desk filing cabinet, and load up the printer with new paper without so much as breaking a sweat in your home office.

Gamers are given the ultimate immersive experience by surrounding themselves with monitors. Furthermore, competitive gamers are afforded the superior advantages of flexibility and comfort, resulting in a better gaming experience and a killer edge.

Are L shaped desks any good?

New office furniture like L-shaped desks is great if you want to maximize your workspace and have a large floor space; all your office supplies are within arm’s length due to the extra surface area. A sit stand corner desk adds even more flexibility, allowing you to switch between sitting and standing for better ergonomics and comfort. Collaboration is easier since you can share the workstations, and an L-shaped desk helps open up the room, giving a greater feeling of spaciousness.

Whether you're setting up a new home office, or fitting out an office space, Desky has the perfect standing desk for you!

What is the best L shaped desk?

The best L shaped desk will include the following:

Greater than average surface area

Superior stability

Smooth height adjustment

Pre-programmable sit stand settings

Sufficient lifting capacity

Good quality table top

Huge range of office desks available - not limited stock

Allow for accessories such as cable management systems and under-desk drawers

Are L shaped desks suitable for gaming purposes?

Corner desks are a great addition to every gamer's home office. With enough space for two or three monitors, L-shaped desks allow you to fill your perspective and create a fully immersive experience. A standing corner desk adds even more versatility, letting you switch between sitting and standing for better comfort and posture. You can fit your PC tower and still have space for non-gaming tasks. And don’t forget the extra storage space underneath the huge desktop.

On Desky’s Sigma L-Shape Gaming Desk, for example, there’s also plenty of space for two gaming setups. You could easily satisfy your gaming and office needs with Desky's great quality workstation desk range.

What are the measurements for an L shaped standing desk?

As for dimensions, based on ergonomic norms, an L-shaped desk's height lies between 29 - 30 inches, with a depth between 20 - 30 inches.

For desks with unequal sides, the lengthier side stretches from 60 - 72 inches while the shorter one is about 48 - 58 inches. It is critical that the size of the desk aligns with your specific needs and available office space for effective functioning.

Are corner desks worth it?

An L-shaped desk wraps around you in the corner—a definite ergonomic advantage; you can improve productivity without getting out of your chair. It also offers more scope for future extensions and changes since it has two sections. If you regularly go from laptop to writing or drawing, you can do this seamlessly—no need to move your stuff, just swivel. Corner office desks provide the perfect blend of functionality and space efficiency, acting as two office desks in one! A great example would be a reception desk and office desk combo.

Where should my corner desk be placed?

Setting up new office furniture can be hard work. Your L shaped desk makes the perfect corner desk; it takes up little space, doesn’t dominate the room and the walls stop things falling down the back providing extra support. However, if you have enough space, be creative, place it facing into the room in a V-shape. Placing it perpendicular to the walls means you can have easy-to-reach shelving.
